It's a very good resource generally, but not for the original publication dates of foreign works translated into English; it almost invariably shows only the translation publication date, and often not even of the first translation. It is often also incomplete for foreign authors, not even listing all their translated works. In fact, unless you know, you often wouldn't be aware that it was a foreign work in the first place.
You generally have to go to Wikipedia for these details.
