I agree it’s a little strange having a touchscreen and buttons but I tend to view that as being a kind of belt and braces approach. You can pretty much choose which you want to use.
I’ve found turning pages one handed pretty easy to be honest using the touch screen. The device is light enough to be held comfortably in one hand and flicking pages with the thumb or finger is easy.
Did you try out the pinch and zoom feature on pdf’s?
I agree the RRP is highish and like you suggest, I bought mine second hand and paid a pretty reasonable price for it. I’m very happy with what I paid and what I got for it.
It’s hard to know what features the new T3 will have, but I suspect a back light and higher resolution screen. There’s a thread here discussing the new T3.
Overall, I have to say I’m delighted with my T2—it does everything I want it to as well as being light and easy to use
