Yesterday a child came out to wander,
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar.
Fearful, the skies were filled with thunder.
Tearful at the falling of a star.
And the seasons, they go go round and round.
The painted ponies go up and down.
We're captured on the carousel of time.
We can't return, we can only look
behind from where we came,
And go round and round in the circle game.

Good morning, everyone! Time flies when you're having fun. I've been in the Kingdom over a month already, and in this new apartment three weeks. It feels like home. It IS home!
Nice to have Ahmad's "English Breakfast" tea with the Food Lady's Special. There really are so many things to choose from on her cart. I had rice, hard-cooked egg, Sour sausage, and red stuff with pork and green things. My wife had totally different foods (even a different type of rice,) and breakfast cost 70 baht for the two of us. That's about a dollar each! Same meal in a Thai restaurant in Japan would cost about $30.... Everything in the Food Lady's cart costs either 5 baht or 10 baht. Rice and eggs are 5 baht per serving, while all the different sausages, chicken, fish, and main dishes cost 10 baht each. (About 30 baht to the US dollar.) We are both over-eating... and loving every bite!

Eggs made in a wok, with a lot of oil. Instead of oil I used ghee. Guaranteed to clog one's arteries simply by looking at it, but tastes sooo good. A splash of soy sauce and sesame oil is added while cooking.
Just one more mug of tea before I hit the trail. I'm in search of "Yorkshire" tea today. Now that I'm mounted again I can check out the new supermarkets that have opened beyond the outer ring roads. Chiang Mai is growing by leaps and bounds, with 5 new shopping malls built while I was in Japan this time. And there are two more under construction, one being just a kilometer away and will have another Import Foods supermarket inside! I'm still walking 5-10k each day, but the sheer volume of food I'm eating is winning the race...
