I tend to ignore books if they're said to be similar to anything else - I just prefer original stuff. I'm also usually put off by long books (400+ pages or whatever the ebook equivalent is) though oddly most of my favourite books are quite long. With pbooks I'm always turned off by fine print, or narrow line spacing or even just thin pages - though this is probably just my age and my refusal to wear glasses.
