As posted earlier, when I dropped my Sony onto a hard tile floor in its original cover, the bottom of the plastic clip broke off. There was no damage at all to the device.

I ripped the entire clip out of the cover, then used two tiny bits of double sided tape to stick the Sony into the back of the cover. This works well. I actually like it better than the clip. The Sony is held firmly in the cover - it doesn't swing around like it used to. If I ever need the reset hole in the back of the Sony, the bits of tape are so small, they will be easy to unstick.
