Do you by any chance have an asterisk following the version number that is displayed? If so that means at some point you set yourself up to run from source and that is taking precedence over the binary install.
If you do not then I would suggest you completely uninstall Calibre; check you do not still have another copy installed elsewhere; and then install it again. The uninstall leaves all your Calibre settings and libraries intact so they will still be there when you re-install
