I use Megareader on my ipad mini. It seems to work well. Not only does it interface with feedbooks and other public domain sources, but you can run the calibre content server and Megareader will automatically detect it on a local wifi network, and then you can download straight into Megareader, or export it to any app on the iPad, such as iBooks for epubs, or Kindle for mobi files.

It's definitely worth the $1.99 pricetag, IMHO.
