That's not stupid (and even if it was, I'm not qualified to second your opinion
). I know what stupidity-with-saws is though. My late mother-out-law's idiot neighbour tried to prune his large cherry tree, from a 6' step ladder on uneven ground (and by "ground" I mean "sloping lawn"), with a circular saw.
There was a lot of blood, but they managed to save his thumb, with only some permanently reduced mobility and numbness.
