That depends entirely on
which European chocolate and
which American chocolate you compare.
Specific examples:
- Hershey's "Milk Chocolate" (now called something else due to truth-in-labeling laws) 0%
- Scharffen-Berger chocolates (from Berkeley, CA) 40% - 85% cacao
- Lindt 30% - 80% cacao
So clearly, if I compare only Scharffen-Berger and Lindt, it's the American chocolate that has more. After all, Hershey's wasn't really chocolate before the change, much less now!
