When Microsoft's announced
push e-mail support they evoked both
sneers and smiles from the technocrats among us. Antonios Karantze, former Windows Mobile Product Manager for O2,
speaks out as to why Microsoft's solution is still far from being perfect, but nevertheless a welcoming step on the company's path to world phone domination.
Quote:
For device manufacturers, and for the customer, it means a continued expansion of phones in appealing form factors and capabilities; the choice will never be greater.
But, you can't help but feel that the polish isn’t there; the default settings on the device and the server aren't quite right, and the customer experience is clunky. Expect a year of confusion within operator support teams and the IT department as the community at large figures out how to tweak and enhance Microsoft’s play in this morning.
