Ogg Vorbis audio files too? My knowledge on formats, openness, and copyright isn't particularly good, but I believe there wouldn't be any patent cost to incorporate it, and I'm sure there are plenty of enthusiastic developers available through the
Xiph.Org Foundation who would love to help out with getting the format supported.
