I mostly don't like sub-genres. They tend to only be in the eye of the beholder. A quick google search on the phrase brings up a number of definitions that are basically the same:

According to that definition, most of the recommendations (including all of mine) couldn't be classed as
High Fantasy since they exist in the primary world. Guess it's up to the OP to decide if we've met his requirements.
