Note: 5.3.2 is for the **KINDLE TOUCH** - not for the Kindle Paperwhite.
But yes, the point is probably a good one - update to a more recent firmware for the Kpw - 5.3.4 is probably a good one.
Then use any of the methods posted here to avoid a forced update to 5.3.5 or 5.3.6 (or just stay in "airplane mode").
