After not reading at all for a good 10 years because my one working eyeball protests after just 10/15 minutes of reading on paper i thought i would give one of these cheap new fangled tablets a shot
So a few years ago i spent $77 dollars on an absolutely horrible tablet
Fortunately the e-reading part of it worked just fine and after fiddling with line spacing and enlarging the font i discovered i could read again - well, up to an hour or so before fatigue/dryness set in bad enough to force me to stop

Recently purchased my first e-reader and i'm happy to report i'm back to the reading fanatic i once was
I still find the reverse image flash that occurs every 6 pages when the screen refreshes quite jarring but i can deal
So of course i would encourage you to try that dedicated e-reader
