Cover images increase in size when sending/saving books.

I noticed that .epub files are much larger after I have sent them to my device or saved them to a directory than they were originally.

The reason seems to be that the cover image files inside the epubs are inceasing in size as they are sent/saved.

I have my output profile set to Tablet, and image pixel size does not change, but the file size is often about double the original size. I think this must mean that Calibre is increasing the quality level of the image as the epub is sent/saved.

If that is the case, how can I stop it happening?
