You're right. I changed the field author_sort_copy_method in Calibre from 'comma' to 'copy' and there is no difference for the kobo, he always organized as LN, FN; even appearing as FN LN. Example:
Isaac Asimov
Alain De Botton
Ray Bradbury
Dan Brown
Agatha Christie
Shows like FN LN, but sort by LN, FN (Asimov, Botton, Bradbury, Brown, Christie...)
In other hand, on kindle, with the option 'author_sort_copy_method = comma' the authors are sort and appears like FN LN

And for the titles sort remains with the same problem in both devices. The article is always ignored, unless I change the language of the book to Spanish in Calibre. But this way the dictionary doesn't work
