Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way

Good morning, all! It's another opening of another day! 7:30... Felicity is asleep in a sun ray on the back of the sofa next to the window, and I'm ready to go downstairs to the food lady and choose breakfast. Actually, I let the food lady choose my main course. I just pick the 'sides.' I have absolutely no idea what it is that I'm eating for most meals I buy here. I just point to a pot that's cooking and smile. I figure that if people are selling it, and people are buying and eating it, it must taste good, so no worries. So far, I have NEVER had a 'bad' meal in all the years I've visited or lived in Thailand. I've had some that weren't 'great,' but none that were actually bad tasting. Usually I don't ask what it is that I'm eating until AFTER I finish. That way my Western food prejudices don't get in the way.

But tea first, just so I can wake up. Today it's the Ceylon that my friends gave me. And pretty tasty it is, too! Deep flavor, surprising for a Ceylon. Must be an Uva, but it's not listed on the container.

EDIT: I don't know what I just ate as the main course, but damn! It was good! I'm going to go back downstairs and ask the lady the name of the dish. Beside it I had Northern Thai sausage, a one-egg vegetable omelet, and sticky rice. Not bad at all for 35 baht! (About a dollar US.)
