Because they haven't begun the initial run of fabrication yet. Until they have the final numbers for their first batch and begin actual fabrication, they are considering all orders to be preorders.
They bumped the price up after they met their crowdfunding deadline. (Preorders are still available, but only at 15% discount instead of 30%. I'm glad I got in at the original discount
)
