I just got my brand new Kindle 4 Black (5th gen) and decided to jailbreak it to put some nice screensavers.
Due some lack of knowledge and excitation, I tried to follow
this guy's tutorial to root it, but I didn't care for the fact that the guy's kindle is a 4th gen and its firmware is probably diferent of mine. I was able to follow all the steps until the putty part, where it should connect to the kindle and do some command line stuff. Then the error "network error - connection refused" appeared.
So, I tried to get out of the diagnostic mode by pressing power button for 20secs, and now my screen is black and when I press the power button the screen flicks for some seconds and becomes black again.
I have some middle-knowledge about computers, and have had rooted some android devices in the past. I thought I was good enough for jailbreaking it easily, but brick'd my new favorite gadget.
Help me please
