I think the point is that they are the first comercial 'plastic
electronics' manufacturing plant - i.e. not just the screen but actually (some of?) the electronics are plastic - cool huh!?

I bet it'll cost a bloomin fortune though & I DONT see it as a competitor to the Kindle/Sony Reader in the short term (neither do they since they are initially targeting business customers I think).
IMHO it would make more sense to licence the technology to a big company (like Sony for example
) once they want to tackle a consumer unit in the future.
