Sounds like it's considerably more refined, but Sony has been at it a lot longer. I guess some of what you have also comes from the PRS+ upgrade? Pretty nice, all in all.

As far as the IR response goes, it should be nearly the same if all the readers use the neonode hardware and interrupts. Of course, the interrupt handler code could have a lot to do with latency...
