Some of his earlier books were Vortex (the U.S. intervenes in an hyper-apartheid South Africa) and Cauldron (the U.S. fights Germany and France). Both quite good in their day.

He has a newer series about clashes with a rising China (Red Dragon Rising). Has anyone read any of these?
