I wholeheartedly disagree. The chargers in the devices are designed to work from 5V. Even an outrageously overpowered charger such as 100 amp, 500 watt 5V supply would work with any and all of the devices that charge from a USB port. On a practical basis I find that the simplet thing is to use the 2.1A charger from my tablet for all devices including the lower powere Kindle Paperwhite or my tiny mp3 player.

Your suggestion is similar to saying that one shuld not use a low power appliance on a 20A or 40A 120 VAC wall outlet.
