Hi Bob, no hacks, mine is a UK version out of the box.

Quick question - are you in the UK as well? So far everyone reporting these symptoms has come from the UK. That might be significant for Adobe/Sony - perhaps they've changed something to adapt the machine to the right-hand bank of the Atlantic.
