Reason I suggested charging is that is your best chance of fixing frozen reader problem that has set on shelf for year or more. Kobo wifi has rubber cover over 5 way switch that often cracks after 2 years use limiting usable life. I never had this common problem with my 2 Kobo wifi s which I gave away or sold or have the current users. They have a much slower processer than current Kobo readers. I have never used a Kobo Mini and can not say if Kobo Mini is much better or just different.
