Apart from it being such a rookie mistake, it is also surprising when you look back at the series sorting they had. That did have the number treated as a number for most circumstances. The simple numbers worked, it was only when there was a decimal that it broke.

Helen: Could you look in the "Kobo Reader.conf" and tell me what the following lines looks like:

LastLibrarySorter_shelfList_=sortByShelfName()
LastLibrarySorter_shelfList_filterByAddToShelf=sor tByShelfName()
Odds are the sorting is there for other devices but with no way to set. Changing in the file will probably work. Knowing the names of the sort routines is the problem.
