- Japan's "real" 3D image projector [engadget.com]
Seems that it's a dot display accompanied by tiny explosions in the air. Not clear if the explosions are the display points, or just a side-effect. Not quite a handheld technology, but we love all kinds of displays and it is still pretty neat.
