Geoff, I noticed that I had a black screen where words should be. It was strange because those words were there before it went to sleep. Then some strange things happened the book would close and say finished even though it was only 44% read. When I opened the book again it opened to a few pages b4 the bug happened. So I did a reset to factory, dumped all references to the sd card meaning I removed the kobo folders, and the calibre folders. Dl 2.5.2 because that's the firmware that's pushing, connected to computer and manually updated from the 2.5.2 to 2.6.1 b4 syncing. it synced set up and did its usual thing. Now KG is running smoother and seems to be good except chess is the white board of death. no squares or pieces to move.

I really have to wonder just how much they vetted this firmware b4 releasing it. Prehaps this is the reason I have not been pushed the update from the desktop? Maybe we are going to see a new release rather sooner then later.

regards

Jack
