I was showing a friend how to convert from epub to .azw3 or .mobi, and during the lesson, asked her to show me that she could do it without me hanging around to tell her step by step... she wasn't thinking clearly (or perhaps she was) and instead of doing a conversion, just did a straight Send to Device... whereupon Calibre asked her if she wanted the file converted... the answer of course was yes... I don't know what it got converted to, but it worked beautifully. Like me, she has a bazillion epubs (non-DRM) but was given a Kindle as a gift. She does some reading in iBooks on her iPad, but thus far had not "done" Kindle. I think thats changed now.
Anyone know what this conversion process does? azw3 or mobi?
Also... if you want to store your own books as docs on Amazon... is it better to convert to azw3 or mobi? I really have no clue.
