...and I guess my timing was off by a day...
While walking around looking for a place to live today, we passed the new shop run by the folks who ran the only Pro shop in town back when a had my photography biz here. I wanted to stop in to say hello. New shop was three times the size of the old one. The first words out of the owner's mouth, after staring at me for 10 seconds was "Oh my God! You've shrunk! (I love it... I've been hearing it every where I go. These folks haven't seen me in 4 years, and now I'm almost 50lbs lighter!) We chatted a few minutes about friends and family (I used this shop as my main working store for 10 years, and sent my photo students there for equipment) she asked me what we were doing right now, walking this neighborhood. I said we were going up and down streets, trying to find a nice condo or house to rent within our budget.
....And then she says the magic words...."Oh! My parents are trying to rent out a two bedroom condo not far from here, and the price is even lower than you've been looking for..." She got on the phone, called mommy and daddy, said she has a 'old dear friend' looking to rent a nice condo...
We'll go and look at it tomorrow. Three cheers for God!
