I'd suspect that is a problem with your operating system and/or web browser. On a Windows 7 x64 system, IE, Firefox, Chrome all downloaded kobosetup.exe. Booting to a Windows XP 32 bit and a Windows 8 64 bit VM gave the same results. A Mint Linux VM with Firefox also downloaded kobosetup.exe -- now if they would make a version to run on it...

I do have all three Windows configurations set to display extensions for known file types. If I disable that setting, I don't see the extension but it is still there.
