It's not the same thing though. Articles like this express it better than I could: http://goodcomics.comicbookresources...its-not-equal/ (brief and inaccurate summary - it's all for men; men want to be the unrealistic heroes, and want to be with the unrealistic heroines).

And just because it's been going on since the 1920's doesn't mean it shouldn't stop.
