Calibre crashing when I try to access my k2i

I'm running Calibre 0.9.28 and I'm accessing (or trying to access my Kindle 2 (international). I can also see all the directories and books if I use windows explorer (I'm on Win 7).

I'll admit I haven't used Calibre for a while but I connected the Kindle and Calibre recognised the device and started to download all the book names etc. It takes quite a while and then it just crashes.

I suspected the Kindle might be full and deleted a few books from it but I had the same problem. I also tried restarting the Kindle (hold power slide for 20 secs and then leave it for a while) but again had the same issue.

Windows also came up with a box saying "Do you want to scan and fix?" the kindle but I rescanned and it found no issues.

Any ideas?

Mike
