I just tried to reproduce this with the preview of "The Great Gatsby" and a couple of different kepubs that I have. For my two books, I added a highlight to each paragraph in the first two pages. As the paragraphs were short, that was over 20 highlights. Then I skipped a few pages and added some more and repeated until the end of the chapter. One ended up with 62 highlights or annotations over two chapters. The other only 37. I stopped when I got bored. Both of these are DRM free

The preview of "The Great Gatsby" is only the first chapter. So, I put about 15 hightlights on the first page and the another five on page 5 and five more on page 8, the last in the chapter. There were not problems with any of the highlights.

It might be a problem with the complete book. The preview is DRM free, but the page said the book has DRM.

I'll have to find a book with DRM in my library and check that.
