This is a dilemma my hubby and I been having. He is a TV watcher. I am not. I prefer to read but I do enjoy movies. We canceled our cable and got a Roku. So he watches that. He gets into a show and watches every episodes from beginning to end. These are old shows I grew up watching. I have no desire to watch them again. So he watches TV with his headphones while sitting in his chair and I read while lounging on the sofa. It works for the most part.
When he wants me to watch a movie with him. We can never decide on anything to watch. We use to watch TV and movies all the time together but as the actors we grew up with got old he refuses to watch anything new I want to watch because he doesn't recognize the names.

There are several movies I like to watch but he is not interested and no I am not one of the girls who watch chick fliks. I may read mostly romance but I prefer action or science fiction and fantasy when I watch something. He use to like them but now he says they are all nothing but special effects and goes watches his old movies from the 90s. I don't rewatch movies unless it's something I really like (National Treasure, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings just to name a few) He can watch a movie over and over and over.
The only show I watch on TV is Once Upon a Time so we do watch that together. For awhile we were watching Merlin together but he started watching episodes at work and I got behind. He is very big on that If we both are interested in a show...I like to space the episodes apart or may be busy doing what most wives do. cooking, cleaning...etc He will watch one right after another and does not like to be disturb at all. If he has to hit the pause button...I get
the look...So due to his obsessive behavior I usually lose track of the series I was watching so I just give up and go read a book.
Be it far from me to give him
the look when he expects me to stop reading or listening to my audio book. I'd better pay attention to every word or I'm too obsessed with my reading when I sat for three days trying to get a few words from him while he watches TV and got
the look every time I asked a question or made a comment.
