I will usually choose the movie to be the S.O. for a while. If it's constant - like a movie every single night after work or similar, I'm likely to suggest spreading out the enjoyment so that I can have some reading time as well, but otherwise I really enjoy watching a movie together. It's an experience that can't really be replicated with reading.

If the question is what I would I choose between a movie and a book (removing the S.O. from the equation), I would say that I dedicate more of my recreation time to reading than to watching movies. But some movies I will make time for - like the new Star Trek movie.
