Easy procedure that doesn't remove any books from your reader is logging out then back into to Kobo account on your reader. This might solve your problem.

After recent firmware update to my Kobo touch I had to long out of the reader's Kobo account then back into Kobo account. This did not delete any books on the reader's internal memory or SD card. A couple of long hold on off button to turn off the reader then turning the reader back on forced the reader to rebuild the database for the epub books loaded onto SD card. Lots of books made that a long wait.

Must do a safe to disconnect from desk top software before disconnecting your reader from computer or turning your reader off after loading new book. Not doing this could require reset back to factory state. More than 1 way to reset your reader.
