Ziploc produces many fine ebook rain-jackets in different sizes.

I never understood the people who said "but you can't read an ereader in the bathtub!" because I figured out very quickly that ebooks work perfectly well in the bathtub, and are less likely to get steam damaged than paperbacks.

I gather there are also expensive waterproof cases designed for many types of ereaders, just like there are many kinds of covers. If I did serious camping in wet conditions, I might look for one of those; for now, a zip-top plastic baggie works just fine.
