Thanks everyone for all your work and help to make these things go well for amateurs like me. I always feel accomplished when I get these customizations and hacks working.
I do have one polite suggestion, in the screensaver hack instructions, it may help others to have the 'unplug during restart' requirement more prominently stated. I had to dig into the comments here to figure that out. Amateur as I am, I would have never thought that it would make a difference to unplug my Kindle.
Everything else worked like a charm. You all are great.
