I'm pretty sure judges aren't allowed to give verdicts on criminal trials in the US. That has to be done before a jury. Unless it's a plea bargain I guess, but it doesn't sound like the person researched enough to come up with that!

One of the worse historical I have read and I have read many.
I am so done with this. I really wanted to support the effort of publishing a non regency but it's darn out embarrassing what is being passed off as a historical romance today. Where's the plot? Where's the history? The Characterization? It's just a sexy contemporary in long dresses.
The funny thing is I enjoy the prequel of the series. It's wasn't perfect but it was believable and had a real plot.
