The problem with putting Heart of Rock (with 3 parts to it) in the collection is that it probably should go last, so people don't get confused with each part being it's own story but connected to the whole. But Child of Promise thematically *has* to go last. ApK, after you've read Child of Promise, let me know whether you agree that it has to be the last story in the collection.
