That's what I thought too. I didn't think there was any laws back then forbidding a minor leaving the state. I mean the father could come after them but how much trouble could they be in with the law?
It just really makes no sense. I really wish authors of today would do better research or explain why the person would be in trouble. I need to finish this book the write the review.
