I'm reading Martin Limon's Jade Lady Burning - a murder mystery set in 1970's South Korea featuring two US Army CID investigators. I'm enjoying it for the sense of place and time.
I've enjoyed this series very much - to the extent of teaching myself to read the Korean alphabet and some basic phrases - it's a fascinating language. The series is gritty, violent, and seems quite factually based in time and place.
