The books in question were not purchased from B&N but were uploaded to the device using Adobe Digital Editions. Anything I transfer from Calibre shows up fine but nothing that is already on the device is shown by Calibre. Perhaps Calibre isn't capable of reading existing files on a device but only files transferred with Calibre.
