So where is Kobo+?

Sony PRS owners tend to love their readers and I think a lot of those people have PRS+. I have a PRS-650 and I love it (except for the lack of front light) but to be honest if it didn't have PRS+ it would be a pretty mediocre device. A lot of Kobo owners are often up in arms over Kobo's firmware so I find myself wondering, where is Kobo+? Was the Sony Reader more hackable than Kobo? Surely there are as many Kobo readers out there now as there were Sony readers.
