Well, that must be the problem, my bezel has no such "gap" and it is all
one piece of plastic. There is no observable space between the top sheet
of plastic and the bezel, in fact there is a layer of double sided tape that
secures the inside edge of the bezel to the top layer. It would be hard to
picture how a cat hair could cause a problem but double sided tape not.
In any case there is no electronics in the bezel. There is nothing above
the top layer of plastic. There is a black layer two or three layers down,
perhaps that means something?
