We could get pretty close today with the 2400x1650 9.7" screen E-Ink has. That's 300 dpi, but still standard Pearl, so no higher contrast. And the standard assembly has no frontlight, but that could conceivably be added pretty easily if they wanted/someone waved enough money at them.
