I mostly just tab my Paperwhite. More like a gentle touch. Unless I hold it with one hand and have to go back a page, then I swipe with the thumb. I hold it in the right hand.

I only read a little on my Fire and it works about the same, doesn't it.

I don't think I need any fancy animation. I don't use paper books that way. With curling the page in at the bottom. I just slide in from the side. So it wouldn't replicate paper book experience for me anyway.

I am so used to the way my kindles do it now using them since 2008.
Yeah, I always thought skeumorphism was some sort of spinal deformity.
