My experience down the line is the same as AnotherCat's.

Even blogger accepted the paste as text, see attached.

FYI I am running:

Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
Calibre Portable 0.9.29

If you pm a link to the book I'll be happy to try that MS infested book in the viewer.
Hi Doctorohh, we cross posted - again

Its MS infested because its from Rand Corp who only publish in Word & PDF, if I complain they'll send black helicopters

If I post that fragment from the Calibre manual into Blogger then its plain text. But as you can see that's not so if I paste it into Word.

So I think Word is 'part of the problem', I convert from RTF, but Filtered HTML gives the same result - except I lose some formatting (eg small caps). I suspect its only documents that originate from Word or pass through it on the way to becoming an EPUB that give the problem.

Please don't suggest I use Sigil - I have developed many macros for MS Office over the past 30 years, I use them habitually in word, and some of them I also I use in excel.

Its not a significant issue, I can put up with stopping off at Notepad++ to unload the HTML when needed. And I also just spotted several widgets that will remove formatting from the clipboard contents - I'll have a look at them, I suspect that's the best solution.
