You've got to give it more time. It was only about 6 years ago that the first kindle was released. Colour e-ink is a long ways off, but it's going to be awesome when it gets here.

Most people are going to want a 6" reader so they'll have to stick with that size. For improvements in the future, to me it looks like Amazon is working on more page turns without a refresh. I'd imagine they'll be working on more even lighting and a higher resolution screen. Nothing too amazing especially since the PW is already practically there for most of our needs aesthetically.

The 11th gen Kindle probably won't be that much better than the PW compared to the PW to the original Kindle. Hardware is coming to the point where it's becoming adequate and groundbreaking changes will be hard to come by. They can always focus more attention to the software side of things which is where all the money is. In the future it'll be awesome when everyone can afford an ereader because they'll be cheaper than physical books.
